Behavior Support Specialist

Hittle House is a small family owned and operated business focused on a commitment to a safe and healthy community.  Our goal is to cultivate a family like atmosphere with our employees, clients, and their families through accountability, consistency, and a dedication to integrity.

We are currently looking for confident, dependable individuals who share our passion for child advocacy to join our expanding team.  As a Behavior Support Specialist you can expect to:

   •     Assist in planning and implementing programs of supervision and care for those in residential care

   •     Provide support with daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, transport, budgeting, and health issues.

   •     Supervise and arrange activities to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of those in residential care.

   •     Ensure that those in residential care are adequately washed, dressed, fed and ready for treatment, educational and recreational activities.

   •     Supervise those in residential care during domestic activities such as eating meals and showering and provide supervision during the nighttime hours to ensure that all residents are kept safe

    •    Provide appropriate role modeling and support during daily activities for youth in the residential setting

Clinical Intervention Specialist (CIS)

This is a brand new position created specifically for a new program, an Intensive Child Trauma Center, (ICTC) which will be opening January 2019. This program will be the first of its kind within the central Ohio area. ICTC is a residential treatment facility for adolescent males with extensive trauma histories. Our typical clientele will be the young men who have seen and dealt with so many negative things in their lives that they struggle to engage in treatment.

Due to our desire to serve this population, we have developed a program, which will revolve around the adolescents placed in the facility, and the trauma they have experienced. These residents will complete their daily schedule with a smaller group of residents (3-5) than is typical in residential facilities. Their schedules will be filled with innovative interventions to keep their minds and bodies busy. These interventions will include; yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and recreation based regulation.

The CIS role is designed for licensed mental health professionals to function in a hybrid clinical/direct care environment. They will be responsible for implementing the program schedule, providing group therapy, and assisting residents in any way required.

As previously mentioned, the idea of this program is very innovative. Attempting to address an individual’s trauma through unique interventions (most of which involve the body in addition to the mind) is rare to see. This program will give CIS the opportunity to hone their skills, learn and implement new skills, in addition to contributing to best practices amongst the world of trauma. The potential for this position is limitless, as they contribute to the development of the ICTC program, they can simultaneously develop their own practice style and utilize this to further their career in any direction.
