About Hittle House

Hittle House was started by Heidi & Heather in 2007 after losing their father unexpectedly. Both worked in the social work field, but felt compelled to start their own business helping children and families and put their grief to good use. Many of the of people that work at Hittle House currently, came with us from other agencies and have been with us since the beginning. They are our family as well as our coworkers. We share the same mission, vision and values. We beleive that every child should be living in a stable and loving family after a brief stay with us.

Hittle House is a children's residential center that provides therapeutic and educational services to adolescent boys that suffer from childhood trauma. This small and specialized residential care facility serves children from 9 to 17 years of age. Our services are safe and secure, providing placement agencies with a highly qualified and structured team approach to care.

Open since 2008, Hittle House is:

  • Licensed by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services
  • Certified by the Ohio Department of Youth Services
  • Accredited by the Council on Accreditation

The company was founded by Heidi McAfee and Heather Bush in loving memory of their father Donald Hittle.
